The Quad Lock Honda Team heads into the penultimate round of the 2025 Supercross season in Denver with renewed determination, following a strong showing in Pittsburgh. Shane McElrath delivered another top-10 result, finishing 8th, while teammate Joey Savatgy was pushing for a top-five finish before a late-race crash saw him salvage 11th—an outcome he was far from satisfied with.
Both riders are setting their sights higher as they prepare for Round 16, with clear goals of finishing inside the top five.
McElrath remains optimistic, confident in his bike setup, team support, and current form.
“Eighth last week was a solid result, but we should be further up the field,” said McElrath. “It’s taken a bit of time, but everything is coming together—I’m comfortable and confident. This class is stacked, but we have the team and the bike to be inside the top five. I messed up the start in the final last week, and you just can’t afford that in this field.”
Savatgy echoed those sentiments, reflecting on what could have been in Pittsburgh.
“I was frustrated last weekend—we were in the perfect position for another top-five,” said Savatgy. “The confidence is there, and I’m pushing hard. The mistake came from trying to move forward, and I’m okay with that. I’ll be bringing the same energy to Denver.”
Team Principal Martin Davalos praised both riders for their determination and believes they’re capable of competing at the front.
“Both Shane and Joey have the speed to be inside the top five,” said Davalos. “Shane had the fastest time in Sector 1 last weekend and was among the top five in other sectors—that’s not luck, that’s performance. The key now is consistency. If they can maintain intensity without mistakes, they can absolutely challenge for top positions.”
