Another Top-15 Finish in MXGP

  • Best German MXGP rider for the second time in a row
  • Two consistent Top-15 results
  • Finished ahead of several factory riders

This past weekend (June 7–8), the eleventh round of the MXGP World Championship took place in Kegums, Latvia. Rain leading up to and during the event created difficult conditions with wet, heavy dirt, making the track quite one-lined and challenging to ride. Nevertheless, Max was looking forward to the Grand Prix, as he has always felt comfortable with the layout in Kegums.

After qualifying 21st in time practice, Max felt strong on his Becker KTM during the qualifying race and moved up to 14th place after a solid start.

In the first moto on Sunday, Max had an average start but was able to push forward in the opening laps, finishing in 15th place.

The second moto followed a similar pattern. After another average start, Max found good lines early on and moved into the Top 15. The Top 10 was within sight until visibility became an issue after running out of tear-offs. Max had to wipe his goggles to keep a clear vision and focused on holding his position. He confirmed his performance from the first race by finishing 14th. With 15th place overall, he was once again the top German rider in the class.

“I’m happy with another strong result. Even though we’re just a small but tight-knit crew, I was once again able to finish ahead of some factory riders. I want to carry this momentum into the 150th ADAC MX Masters race, which will take place next weekend in Dreetz. I’m really looking forward to it,” said Max about his race in Kegums.
