It was a weekend full of highs and lows for the KMP Honda Racing Team at the fourth round of the ADAC MX Masters in Dreetz. Injuries, technical issues, and race retirements shaped the event, but the team showed strong cohesion and determination to come back stronger.
Injuries and withdrawals challenge the team
Stand-in rider Cornelius Tøndel suffered a heavy crash during free practice and was forced to withdraw from the event due to injury. Regular riders Jordi Tixier and Jakub Teresak also remained sidelined as they continue working toward their comebacks.
MX Masters: Bidzans shows pace, Alonso with ups and downs
Edvards Bidzans delivered a gritty performance in the competitive MX Masters class:
“I wasn’t happy with qualifying – P11 didn’t reflect my true speed. In race one I got stuck behind a crash at the start and had to fight back to P17. In race two I went over the bars and had to come all the way from P40 to P20. Race three went better – a decent start and held on to P11. The speed was there all weekend, I just need to improve the last ten minutes of the races.”
Victor Alonso experienced a mixed weekend. He showed promise with a solid 13th place in race one, but two DNFs in the remaining motos dropped him to 21st overall. He now aims to build consistency heading into the next round.
MX Youngster Cup: Learning experiences and misfortune
Manuel Carreras reflected honestly on a tough weekend:
“It was a super rough one for me. I tried to improve every time I went out, but after two bad motos, I made a mistake in the last one and hyperextended my ankle. Now it’s all about recovering, training harder, and coming back stronger – they won’t defeat me that easily!”
Pasquale di Monaco was plagued by technical problems:
“Two DNFs – ran out of fuel in the first moto and then had engine issues in the second. Definitely not the weekend I was hoping for. Still, big thanks to the team for the support – we’ll be back fighting in Tensfeld!”
Marius Adomaitis summed up his weekend in clear words:
“Too many mistakes, weak fitness, and a lot of bad luck. At least I could show my speed a little in moto three – but not for long. Now I’ll stay motivated and prepare for the next races.”
Conclusion and outlook
Despite the setbacks, the KMP Honda Racing Team remains focused and determined. The riders are already working on improvements, and the team is looking ahead to the upcoming ADAC MX Masters round in Bielstein. The return of the injured riders is also eagerly awaited.
