„Spicy” to Race for Team Germany at MXoN in the USA

  • Max Selected for the National Team for the First Time
  • Mixed Weekend in Sweden
  • Speed Was There, but the Flow Was Missing in Uddevalla

Just before the MXGP of Sweden, the MXoN Team Germany officially announced that Max will be one of the three riders representing the German national team at the Motocross of Nations on the Ironman Raceway in the USA. Max had already been named to the squad several times and was part of the team in 2023 as a reserve rider at the MXoN in Ernée. There he got to experience the world’s most prestigious MX race from behind the scenes. Now, on October 4–5, Max will make his MXoN debut as a racer.

“Ever since I attended the MXoN in Teutschenthal in 2013 as a spectator, it’s been a dream of mine to one day race for the German team. I’ve also never been to the USA, so two childhood dreams are coming true at once! Together with Becker Racing and my sponsors, we were able to put together a package that allows me to seize this opportunity — thank you to everyone involved! I’m really looking forward to the fast track with the big jumps, that’s exactly my thing,” Max said enthusiastically about his nomination.

In Sweden, Max was greeted by a beautiful track set in a stunning landscape with passionate fans. “The track is very nice and fun to ride, but it’s difficult to find traction and the right flow,” Max explained. After finishing 18th in time practice, he could only manage 20th in the qualifying race.

“I got a good start, but was pushed wide in the first corner and lost a lot of positions. I had already moved up to 18th and was running lap times close to the top ten, but in the final laps I made too many mistakes while attacking and unfortunately lost two more positions,” said Max.

In the first moto, Max struggled to find his pace and crossed the finish line in 18th.

“I couldn’t really get into the flow and as the race went on, I slipped back to 18th. I wasn’t very happy with that, even though I still scored some points,” Max admitted.

In the second moto, Max had a better start and was already up to 15th, but then dropped back and finished in 21st.

“During the race, I struggled with some issues, which caused me to lose my rhythm and give up several positions. That’s a real shame, and I had hoped for more from this weekend. But that’s racing sometimes. Still, I enjoyed riding here and I’m already looking forward to the next Grand Prix in Arnhem next weekend,” Max concluded.
