Noel Zanocz finishes fourth in EMX250 in Arnhem

JM Racing Honda’s Noel Zanocz claimed fourth overall in the penultimate round of the EMX250 Championship in Arnhem. Zanocz struggled to find his rhythm on the track and had to settle for third and sixth places in the motos.

After setting the third fastest time in qualifying, Zanocz didn’t get away well at the start of the opening moto. However, by making smart choices in the first few corners, he quickly moved up to third place. He followed the two leaders closely, but as they had a slightly higher pace, he wasn’t able to attempt any overtakes. Zanocz finished the first moto in third and was motivated to go for more in the second race.

In moto two, a poor start left him down in around eighteenth place. Zanocz struggled to find his rhythm but kept fighting all the way. In the end, he salvaged a sixth-place finish, which gave him fourth overall on the day. In the EMX250 Championship standings, he remains in second place.

Brent van Doninck was unable to find the right feeling on Arnhem’s demanding sand circuit. In the first moto, Van Doninck worked his way from around fifteenth up to tenth, but a crash cost him several positions. He eventually finished fourteenth and was determined to improve in race two.

A weaker start in the second moto left him with work to do, but during the race he closed in on a group battling for positions just outside the top ten. Matching the pace of the two riders ahead of him, he couldn’t make the difference and crossed the line in twelfth.

With these results, Van Doninck finished twelfth overall for the day. The next Grand Prix will take place on the weekend of September 6-7 in Afyonkarahisar, Turkey.
