Honda Racing Australia Announces 2025 Australian Supercross Championship Line-Up!

Honda Racing Australia is proud to announce its rider line-up and partners for the 2025 Australian Supercross Championship.

The powerhouse Honda team enters this year’s series with a legacy of dominance, claiming the last eight consecutive SX1 (450cc) championships and four of the past five SX2 (250cc) titles, including three straight in the last three seasons.

The 2025 championship is shaping up as one of the most competitive yet, with rival teams signing top international talent to challenge Honda’s winning streak. While some sponsors have shifted title positions, all remain aligned behind Honda’s ambitious campaign.

SX1 – Premier Class

Dean Wilson #15 – Quad Lock Honda
Returning for his fourth season with Honda, former Australian champion Dean Wilson is determined to reclaim his 2023 crown. The American-based Scotsman continues to enjoy racing in Australia.

“I love it here. I’ve made so many friends and my team feels like family. There’s a lot of international talent coming in, which is great for the championship. With such a short season, every gate drop counts, I need to bring my A-game,” said Wilson.

Cedric Soubeyras #2 – Boost Mobile Honda

Six-time French Champion and AMA Supercross top-10 race finisher, Soubeyras, is set for his first full season in Australia.

“I was so excited when I got the call. I know about Yarrive and his team, and the incredible success Honda has had in Australia. My goal is to fight for wins and be on the podium at the end,” said Soubeyras.

SX2 – 250 Class

Shane McElrath #1 – Quad Lock Honda

The reigning champion is back, knowing full well the local and international competition is fierce.

“The guys down there are fast, and with more internationals coming in, I’ll need to stay sharp” said McElrath.

Wilson Todd #2 – Berry Sweet Honda

2022 and 2023 Australian 250 Motocross Champion and former SX2 champion, Todd returns to the 250 class after a strong comeback in 450cc MX1 championship.

“I had my best 450 season this year after two tough years with injuries. Missing last year’s supercross motivates me even more. The goal is to win the 250 title and move back up to the 450s full-time next year,” said Todd.

Brodie Connolly #88 – Polyflor Honda

The back-to-back Australian Motocross Champion continues his supercross progression after an impressive debut in 2024.

“This is still new to me. The riders I’m racing against have hundreds more laps on supercross tracks. I’ve learned mistakes are costly, and I need to limit them,” said Connolly.

Alex Larwood #5 – National Finance and Loans Honda

Larwood delivered podium speed in 2024 but was hampered by crashes. This year, consistency is the focus.

“Last year my pace was strong, but mistakes cost me. I just missed the podium in motocross and I’m hungry to make it happen in supercross,” said Larwood.

Thomas “Tiger” Woods #4 – Pro Honda Oils and Chemicals Honda

The 18-year-old Queenslander returns home after seven years racing and training in the U.S., most recently finishing top three in the SMX NEXT Championship.

“I’m so happy to be back in Australia and grateful for the opportunity with the Factory Honda Team. I have no set expectations, my goal is to find my pace in the first two rounds and build from there,” said Woods.

SX3 – Development Class

Kayd Kingsford #2 – Quad Lock Honda

Fresh off his first outdoor title, Kingsford is aiming for a rare double championships in both motocross and supercross.

“Mistakes cost me last year, but I’ve learned patience and maturity are key. The international competition is great for all of us, it raises the level,” said Kingsford.

Jet Alsop #42 – Pro Honda Oils and Chemicals Honda

Rewarded with a factory ride after finishing runner-up in MX3, Alsop is ready to step up.

“It’s a stacked field, and it won’t be easy, but I’m ready to give it everything,” said Alsop.

Honda Racing Australia enters 2025 with a mix of proven champions, rising stars, and international talent, united by a common goal: to extend Honda’s remarkable run of supercross dominance while inspiring the next generation of riders.
