Clean Sweep for Honda Across All Classes in Round 4 of Australian Motocross Championship!

In a commanding display of strength, precision, and teamwork, the Factory Honda Team secured overall victories in all three championship classes during Round 4 of the Australian Motocross Championship, in Traralgon, Victoria. The results further cement Honda’s position as a dominant force in the 2024 season.

MX1 – Webster Wins Third in a Row

Boost Mobile Honda’s Kyle Webster continued his charge, claiming his third consecutive round win in the MX1 class. Despite trailing in the championship due to a DNF in Round 1, his determination remains laser-focused.

“We have four rounds left, and all I can do is go for it. I have nothing to lose. That crash in Round 1 still haunts me, you cant lose those points in the battle I am in. The bike is strong, the team is clicking, and the only plan is to keep winning,” said Webster.

Wilson Todd, riding for Berry Sweet Honda, showed signs of returning to peak form. Although he was in podium contention, a late crash in Moto 2 pushed him to 5th overall. He now sits 4th in the championship standings.

“It’s all part of the process. Of course I’m disappointed in the crash, but we’re moving in the right direction. At the start of the year, I didn’t even think third in the championship was realistic—now it is,” said Todd.

MX2 – Connolly Perfect, Larwood Steady

Brodie Connolly, on the  Polyflor Honda CRF250R, delivered a perfect day in MX2—qualifying fastest and winning both motos in dominant fashion.

“That’s the standard I expect from myself. I’ve rushed some races this year, so I’m learning to be patient and not override the track. Traralgon was tricky, hard in some spots, slick in others, but we managed it well,” said Connolly.

Alex Larwood, on the National Finance and Loans CRF250R, rode solidly and acknowledges where improvement is needed.

“Injuries have really shaped my career, and I probably carry that with me too much. My speed is there, but I avoid risk when maybe I shouldn’t. We’ve got time before the next round, and I know where to focus. The team’s support means a lot,” Larwood said.

MX3 – Kingsford’s Winning Streak Continues

Pro Honda’s Kayd Kingsford dominated MX3 with another flawless performance—qualifying fastest and leading both motos from start to finish. He has now won three consecutive rounds, a milestone in his young career.

“Before this year, I’d never won a round. Now we’ve got three in a row. The team expects a lot, but they also guide me through what it takes to win. That coaching has been a game-changer,” said Kingsford.

International Spotlight – Charli Cannon’s Courageous Effort

While her teammates raced in Victoria, Honda’s sole female factory rider Charli Cannon competed in the first round of the American Women’s Motocross Championship. Despite undergoing surgery just a week earlier to repair a broken and dislocated index finger—with two plates inserted—Cannon lined up and finished 3rd and 4th in the motos, earning 4th overall.

“Her results only tell part of the story. The real win was her resilience,” said Team Director Yarrive Konsky. “We’ll release a full story later today, but her courage and mental strength have inspired us all.”

Some of the team are now preparing for the Manjimup 15000, in Western Australia.
