Did you know that 58 people in Australia are diagnosed with breast cancer and 9 Australians die every day from the disease? Over 5 million have been diagnosed with breast cancer throughout the world in the past 3 years.
The Honda Racing Australia team has decided to raise awareness and funds for national breast cancer research to help the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) towards their vision of Zero Deaths from Breast Cancer.
Racing is inclusive, it’s a family sport and there are more and more women racing each year. The Honda Racing Australia team is aware of the hardships and challenges those with cancer suffer, there are riders on the team whose families have suffered and are suffering and we wanted to use the noise we make on the track make an impact off the track.
Team Director, Yarrive Konsky, said “All cancers, have an impact on the lives of those that carry it, the cancer sufferers, their respective family and friends, everyone and we wanted to let those know that are suffering that they aren’t alone. We are graced by the opportunity to be outdoors, to race, to do what we love, we wanted to give back”.
The Honda Racing Australia are running an auction. All monies raised will go to National Breast Cancer Foundation. We are auctioning off all six of our riders 1-off custom helmets, we will also auction of two of each of the riders, signed custom jerseys, a SKDA custom sticker kit and 4 x VIP experiences to the Australian Supercross Championship in Redcliffe, Qld. We are also auctioning off a 1-off custom FROTH FLY helmet worn and signed by AMA Supercross race winner, World Supercross Champion and two-time Australian Supercross Champion, Max Anstie.
In addition, we have made three different t-shirts, our sponsors have got behind the manufacturing of the T-shirts and have covered the costs, 70 pieces per colour are being sold through www.shophondaracing.com for $50 each and or will be available at the track this coming weekend in Warrick and the remaining rounds of the Australian Motocross Championship. All proceeds from the T-shirts will go the NBCF.
We have decided to support NBCF, but we need to remember there are many cancers taking lives.
Please support NBCF and donate to save lives and make a difference.
Every donation, big or small, will get them closer to reaching their goal. Together we can stop deaths from breast cancer. Either donate or bid, please get behind this amazing cause.
