- First Overall ADAC MX Masters Victory of the Season
- Race Win in the Third Moto
- Speed Already Shown in Qualifying
Last weekend, the sixth round of the ADAC MX Masters took place in Gaildorf, in the Swabian region. On the traditional “Auf der Wacht” circuit, riders faced warm temperatures of over 30 degrees Celsius and a hardpacked racetrack. Max had already shown his speed in qualifying by setting the fastest time in his training group, proving that his injuries were no longer limiting his pace.
In Saturday’s first moto, Max crossed the Red Bull Holeshot line in seventh place. He returned from the opening lap in fifth position, holding it for much of the race. In the final third, he moved up to fourth, where he finished.
“I had a relatively good start inside the top ten, but that’s not enough on the Gaildorf track to make it all the way to the front. Finishing fourth was still a solid improvement,” said Max.
In Sunday’s second moto, the picture was similar: starting in sixth place, Max quickly moved into fifth. Midway through the race, he overtook championship leader Max Nagl to claim fourth, where he stayed until the finish.
“The track was a bit different from Saturday, and I felt comfortable. The race was similar to Saturday’s—another good start and then moving forward,” Max explained.
In the third moto, Max got an excellent start and got around the first corner in second. In the opening lap he passed Noah Ludwig to take the lead and quickly pulled out a solid gap. Mid-race, Roan Van de Moosdijk got closer, but then dropped back with a technical problem. This allowed Max to take a comfortable race win. His second moto win of the year in the ADAC MX Masters was enough to secure his first overall victory of the season.
“I never stopped believing that I could also win on hardpack. Last week, I did extensive tire testing with my sponsor. It paid off, because I felt really comfortable this weekend with my Maxxis tires. Even though there was a bit of luck involved in securing the overall win, I showed that I can take moto wins on hardpack purely on my own merit. I hope I can repeat a result like this in the next races. A big thank you to all my sponsors, supporters, and helpers who made this success possible,” Max beamed at the award ceremony.
In the championship, Max remains in third place and was able to slightly close the gap to the riders ahead of him. Next weekend, Max will compete at the MXGP in Uddevalla, Sweden.
