Top Three in the 2025 ADAC MX Masters

  • Podium at the Season Finale in Holzgerlingen
  • Second Place in Moto Two Despite Leg Injury
  • Looking Forward to the Motocross of Nations

The eighth and final round of the 2025 ADAC MX Masters took place last weekend in Holzgerlingen. The Schützenbühlring is considered one of Germany’s best—but also most demanding—tracks. With third place in his qualifying group, only about half a second off the fastest time, Max earned sixth gate pick for the three motos.

Saturday brought dry conditions, but the track challenged riders with varying surfaces—ranging from dry and slippery to moistured and deep. In the first moto, Max shot out of the gate in second and spectacularly jumped past Jordi Tixier to take the lead in the second lap. After five laps, a collision with Marcel Stauffer during the battle for the lead sent Max briefly to the ground. He rejoined in fifth and held that position to the finish.

“Unfortunately, when I crashed, my shin hit the footpeg and that cut a gash just below my knee that had to be treated. It’s a pity, because without that incident more than fifth place would have been possible,” Max said.

Overnight rain created completely different track conditions for Sunday. The deep, soft dirt even forced the morning’s Junior Cup races to be canceled. But sunshine and diligent track work produced raceable yet demanding conditions with deep ruts for the ADAC MX Masters class. In the second moto, Max delivered a strong ride, moving from sixth on the opening lap to second by lap four. Race leader Roan van de Moosdijk was already too far ahead to be caught, so Max settled for the runner-up spot.

In the third moto, Max again started well in fifth but dropped to 13th after an early crash. Two laps later he had already worked his way back to sixth. By lap seven he gained two more places to finish fourth. With third overall at Holzgerlingen—behind new ADAC MX Masters Champion Roan van de Moosdijk and Jordi Tixier—Max also secured third place in the championship standings.

“It was an eventful weekend. I had three good starts, even if I made things difficult for myself with the crash in the third moto. I showed good speed in all track conditions. All in all, it was a great weekend with a podium to close the season. A top-three championship finish was my goal, and with third place I achieved it. Now I’m looking forward to the Motocross of Nations in the USA. It’s going to be an amazing experience, and together with Ken Roczen and Simon Längenfelder I’ll give everything for a strong team result,” Max beamed.
