After completing their first full season with Quad Lock across AMA Supercross, Pro Motocross, Women’s Motocross, and the SMX Playoffs, Quad Lock Honda is already turning its focus to the next challenge: the World Supercross Championship and the highly anticipated return to competition of Christian Craig.
The team’s 2025 campaign has been its most ambitious yet. Highlights included a second-place finish in Birmingham, multiple top-tens in the premier class, race wins and an overall podium in the Women’s Championship. With new opportunities surfacing, the momentum continues to build heading into the biggest finish of the year.
Team Principal Martin Davalos praised the group’s relentless commitment:
“This year has been massive. We came off an intensive 2024 off-season racing in both the World Supercross and Australian Supercross Championships, then backed it up with a full U.S. calendar. Now we’re preparing for WSX again. Our U.S. and Australian teams will compete in over 60 events combined this year, no one else is doing that. Grateful is the word that comes to mind, grateful for everyone’s efforts.”
The SMX Playoffs brought together 9 manufacturers and 30 of America’s best riders. Quad Lock Honda rose to the challenge, with Joey Savatgy finishing 9th overall, Shane McElrath 14th, and Dean Wilson 17th.
“It was solid. My return from the hip injury I sustained during motocross is nearly 100%, and I am happy with the way I am riding, SMX was good and I can’t wait for the WSX” said Savatgy.
As soon as the final gate dropped on the SMX Playoffs, the team’s focus shifted to WSX. While Savatgy and McElrath took a short rest, new signing Christian Craig continued to work.
“I’m preparing the same way I would for an AMA Championship. I want to be competitive, I want to prove I belong out there and deserve a seat,” said Craig.
Craig joins a program he respects for its rapid success.
“This team has achieved so much in just six years, working with some big names in the sport. They care about results, and I know I’m in a great place. I’m not done chasing podiums, I hope this is the start of something special.”
Craig will line up alongside Savatgy in the WSX 450 class. Defending WSX 250 Champion Shane McElrath will partner with two-time Australian Motocross Champion Brodie Connolly, while Dean Wilson returns to Australia for the Australian Supercross Championship.
The team recently sat down with Craig to discuss his comeback, racing with family, and his goals. What stood out was his quiet determination and infectious confidence.
“I still have so much fun, and the fire to compete is still there,” said Craig.
With the SMX season wrapped and WSX just around the corner, Quad Lock Honda is ready for another historic chapter, backed by grit, teamwork, and a rider hungry to reclaim his place at the top.
