Dominance – Honda Australia Secures Eighth Consecutive Supercross Championship!

Honda Australia has displayed its dominance for an eighth straight season, with Dean Wilson delivering a remarkable performance to claim the 2025 Australian Supercross Championship. Wilson won an incredible eight of the ten races, with the other two going to Honda’s Jett Lawrence, who claimed round four. Across the five-round championship, Dean claimed four round victories and finished second in the other, a season defined by courage, precision, and unwavering commitment.

Dean Wilson: A Season of Strength and Heart
Wilson’s season began under immense personal pressure. Lining up for Round 1 knowing his mother might not make it through the night, he focused on what he could control, his riding. Calm, present, and determined, he dominated the opening round and immediately established himself as the rider to beat.
The morning of Round 2 brought the heartbreaking news of his mother’s passing. Despite the emotional weight, Wilson delivered two exceptional rides, winning both races. He held himself together until the final chequered flag, dedicating the round, and his effort, to his mum, the angel on his shoulder.
Round 3 saw Wilson continue his relentless form, going 1–1 to secure his third consecutive overall. In Round 4, the Lawrence brothers, arguably the two fastest riders in the world, joined the field. Wilson split them, finishing second overall and proving once again that he belongs among the world’s elite, Honda also locked up the podium.

Heading into the final round with a 42-point lead, he had no pressure to perform, but he did anyway. After securing the title with a convincing win in Race 1, he refused to celebrate early. He wanted to finish the job properly, winning the final race and sealing one of the most commanding championship campaigns in Australian Supercross history.

Honda won all ten races: Jett Lawrence claimed two, while Wilson claimed eight. The Quad Lock Honda rider was unstoppable.

“That’s some of my best riding. I was locked in. Life is short, you have to give it your all, and you also have to have fun. Next year will be my fifth season with the team. I don’t know which championship we’ll race yet, but I feel at home with Honda.”  Dean Wilson

Cedric Soubeyras Claims Runner-Up Finish for Honda
Cedric Soubeyras delivered a heroic effort to secure second overall on the BOOST Mobile Honda CRF450RWE. This marks the third time in five seasons that Honda has finished 1–2 in the premier class.

What makes Soubeyras’ achievement extraordinary is that he raced with four cracked ribs, an injury sustained just five days earlier. While such an injury would sideline most athletes, Cedric pushed through immense pain, supported by his wife, young son, and a team that believed in him. He earned three podiums, one second and two thirds and helped deliver another historic 1–2 result for Honda.

“This was one of the hardest weekends of my 25-year career. Breathing was difficult, I felt sick, and I couldn’t take much pain relief. But the team, the experience, everything was amazing. I’m proud of my riding and the result. I hope to return next year, and if I do, I’ll come earlier to prepare properly.”  Cedric Soubeyras

Alex Larwood Shines in SX2
In SX2, Alex Larwood carried the flag for Honda, taking the final-round overall win and finishing second in the championship, missing the title by just three points in a dramatic season finale.

Larwood continues to show the qualities of a future champion. The National Finance & Loans Honda rider is signed for 2026 and will carry the momentum of his final-round victory into next year.

“It’s tough. I’ve had a lot of injuries throughout my career, and I made too many mistakes early on because I was being cautious. This weekend I proved to myself that I can win races, I just need to do it more consistently if I want to win a championship.” Alex Larwood

Team Director Yarrive Konsky on Honda’s Dominance
Team Director Yarrive Konsky praised the riders and the program:

“Alex is a remarkable talent. Injuries take their toll, but he continues to build confidence. I pushed him hard this weekend because I care and because I know what he’s capable of.

Dean was outstanding. I hired him because of his ability, he’s larger than life, which the fans love, but he’s unbelievable on a bike, and he proved that.

And Cedric, all I can say is thank you. Thank you for caring enough to race through that level of pain to help Honda secure another 1–2.”
