Fire Power Honda end 2023 AMA Supercross season with success in both classess!

The Fire Power Honda team completed the 2023 AMA Supercross season in Salt Lake City, Utah, on Saturday. The ‘red’ duo of Dean Wilson and Max Anstie hit respective highs within the confines of Rice Eccles Stadium and capped off an incredible season of on-track action in fine form.

Regular viewers of 2023 AMA Supercross will be well aware of Dean Wilson’s charge towards the top five and he completed that at the season finale. ’15’ ripped to fifth after starting in eighth and finished just seven seconds from a spot on the podium. Wilson was one of just four riders to make every single main event this year and, in the end, he was classified in tenth in the final championship standings. It was a brilliant term aboard the CRF450R and one that he can extract a lot of momentum from.

For Max Anstie, the priority was claiming second in the 250SX East standings. Unfortunately, however, he ended up just one point shy of the spot. ’63’ ripped to seventh in the 250SX East/West Showdown and was the fourth ‘east’ rider in the classification. It was a strong end to a memorable campaign that included four podiums and a win. The bronze medal is the first that the Fire Power Honda squad has claimed in AMA Supercross competition.

Dean Wilson: “It was nice to end the AMA Supercross season inside of the top five, a season-best result. We have made some solid progress since Anaheim 1 and we’ll keep going in that direction for the remainder of the year.”

Max Anstie: “Third in the 250SX East championship. It was a fantastic season with great people. Thanks to my team for giving me a competitive package to perform on each weekend. We had four podiums, one win and a great time! I am grateful for all that I have learned.”

Martin Davalos: “I am proud of everyone’s efforts, this is a huge step forward for our program and I am looking forward to next year and the remainder of this year”.
