8 World Championship points for Benoit Paturel in MXGP of Sweden

Benoit Paturel of the De Baets MX team has scored eight world championship points at the Grand Prix of Sweden. Due to a crash in the opening moto his front brake got damaged which forced him to retire from the race. In the second moto he was struggling to find his rhythm in the muddy circumstances and finished in fourteenth position.

The weekend started really positive for Paturel on Saturday. He had a good feeling on the track and set the tenth fastest time in time practice. In the qualifying heat things were going well for him as well. He was riding in ninth place for a long time and finally finished the race in tenth.

Due to a lot of overnight rain the track circumstances were really muddy in the motos on Sunday. The first moto started with a set back for Paturel because he crashed in the beginning. By the crash his front brake got damaged which forced him to retire from the race.

In the second moto he didn’t took a good start and came out of the first lap in fifteenth position. It was raining in the beginning of the moto and this made it difficult. Paturel was struggling to find his rhythm and finally finished the race in fourteenth place.

Paturel finished in seventeenth position overall and sits in eleventh position in the world championship standings. The next race of the world championship is in Arnhem, the Netherlands this weekend.
