Quentin Prugnieres eighth in home Grand Prix in France

F&H Racing’s Quentin Prugnieres has ridden a strong home Grand Prix in St. Jean d’Angely, France. Prugnieres managed to finish eighth in the day’s results with an eighth and a tenth place in the motos.

The St. Jean d’Angely circuit held up well at the beginning of the weekend despite the heavy rainfall from earlier in the week. On Saturday, Prugnieres needed some time to get into the right rhythm and therefore did not get any further than a fourteenth time in the time practice. Before the qualifying heat, it had started raining and therefore the conditions were suddenly very different. Prugnieres got a very good start and came out of the first lap in sixth place. He managed to hold his own throughout the race and was not far behind the reigning world champion, Andrea Adamo, at the finish.

Prugnieres’ good sixth place on Saturday was good for the confidence and Quentin and the team were eagerly looking forward to Sunday. The first moto was held in dry conditions. Prugnieres had a lot of work to do because he only came out of the first lap in eighteenth place. Giving it his all, he managed to pass one rider after the other and finished in a strong eighth place.

In the second moto his start was better and he managed to work his way up from tenth place to eighth place in the early stages. He managed to hold on to this for a few laps but then made a mistake. It also started to rain at that time, making it a matter of survival on the slippery course. Prugnieres kept his cool until the flag and managed to cross the finish line in a good tenth place.

With an 8-10 in the motos, Prugnieres finished in a nice eighth place in his home Grand Prix and is now eleventh in the world championship standings. In the weekend of the 1st and 2nd of June, the next Grand Prix is scheduled in Teutschenthal, Germany.
